Defense and military component fabrication on our laser cell is non-ITAR, build-to-print work: ground-support brackets, electronics-cabinet panels, communications chassis, and structural components cut in MIL-spec carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum to a customer’s qualified design. Nevatronix Laser is not ITAR registered, and that boundary shapes everything else on this page — we take on component fabrication for non-ITAR tier-2 and tier-3 suppliers, not controlled programs, and we cut to prints engineered and owned elsewhere. The documentation discipline this work expects — mill certs, first-article inspection, full traceability — is the same discipline our gaming and fintech customers have required of this shop for years; it did not need to be built new for this vertical.

What do we cut for defense-adjacent programs?

Component work for this vertical runs through the same 3 kW flat-sheet and 6 kW tube cells that cut for our gaming and fintech customers — the difference is the material certification and documentation that rides along with it. Across programs we cut:

  • Ground-support equipment brackets and panels. Structural brackets and panel components for GSE built to a customer’s print.
  • Communications and electronics cabinet panels. Chassis panels and cabinet components for comms and electronics housings.
  • Test-stand and calibration-fixture chassis. Frame and panel components for fixtures used in test and calibration setups.
  • Structural brackets and mounting plates. Baseplates, gussets, and mounting hardware cut to MIL-spec material callouts.
  • Training-simulator chassis and panels. Enclosure and chassis panels for simulator and training equipment.
  • Field-deployable enclosure panels. Panels cut to a customer’s NEMA/IP-rated enclosure print.
  • Cable-management and wire-harness brackets. Bracket and tray components that route and secure cabling.
  • Depot and MRO replacement panels. Reorder and replacement panels matched to an existing part number and revision.

Every part on this list ships with the same first-article inspection and lot-traceability record, regardless of program size.

What materials are approved for MIL-spec brackets and enclosures?

MIL-spec carbon steel and stainless steel are the two grades most defense-adjacent prints call out, and both run within our published envelope: carbon steel to 12 mm and stainless to 6 mm on the flat-sheet laser cell, cut with nitrogen or oxygen assist depending on the edge the print calls for. MIL-spec aluminum grades run to 5 mm on the same cell. Position tolerance across all of them is ±0.05 mm with ±0.025 mm repeatability, and minimum hole diameter is 1 mm — figures that matter on connector cutouts and mounting-hole patterns common to electronics and comms panels. We do not cut armor plate (RHA) or exotic alloys — titanium, Inconel, and similar high-hardness or high-temperature alloys sit outside our 3 kW envelope, and we say so rather than force a part through a process it does not suit. What tolerances do defense-spec parts need?

Position tolerance on flat-sheet brackets and panels is ±0.05 mm, with an ISO 9013 range 2 edge across the thickness range we cut. Tube-cut frame members — GSE stands, equipment racks, mounting structures — hold ±0.1 mm on hole position and ±0.2 mm on length on our five-axis tube laser cell. Every dimension ships against a first-article inspection report, and tighter feature-to-feature tolerances on critical mating features are documented on request. Documentation and traceability

Defense-adjacent programs buy on paperwork nearly as much as on parts. Every production order runs under our ISO 9001:2015 quality system, carries mill certs, an AS9102-format first-article inspection report, and full lot traceability through our MIE Trak Pro ERP. PPAP levels 2 through 4 are available on request for programs that require it, and Nevatronix is a UL-listed shop. We accept DXF, STEP, DWG, IGES, PDF, SolidWorks, and Pro-E files for quoting, so a program’s existing CAD data usually needs no conversion before a print moves to first article. What we do not offer is ITAR registration, NADCAP accreditation, or documentation for controlled technical data — if a program needs those, it needs a different supplier.

Volumes, lead times, and where this stops

Runs move from a single prototype to 50,000 units, with Kanban and JIT scheduling available for programs that need release-based delivery rather than one large batch. Flat-sheet parts turn in 5–10 business days for production and 48–72 hours for a prototype; tube-cut brackets and frames run 7–14 business days with a 5-day prototype option. Everything above is component fabrication to a print we do not own: we do not engineer defense systems, we are not ITAR registered, and we do not cut armor plate or exotic alloys. Las Vegas, domestic fabrication, and the Nellis corridor

Every part is cut at our Las Vegas facility, in the same metro as Nellis Air Force Base and the Southwest’s defense-supplier base. A second warehouse in Henderson, about 15 minutes away, adds buffer-stock capacity for programs running on a release schedule rather than a single batch. All fabrication is domestic, which supports Buy America sourcing where a program requires it, and material certifications document that supply chain when a print calls for it.

Frequently asked questions

Are you ITAR registered?
No. Nevatronix is not ITAR registered, and our laser cell does not take on ITAR-controlled or USML-covered work. We support non-ITAR tier-2/tier-3 component fabrication — brackets, panels, and chassis cut to a customer's print — with mill certs, AS9102-format first-article inspection, and full lot traceability. Controlled technical data and any program requiring ITAR registration are outside our scope.
What materials do you cut for defense and military component work?
MIL-spec carbon steel and stainless to 6 mm, plus MIL-spec aluminum grades, all in stock production gauges on our 3 kW fiber laser. We do not cut armor plate (RHA) or exotic alloys such as titanium or Inconel — that work sits outside our cell's envelope and outside our scope. Tell us the MIL-spec callout on your print and we confirm the grade against material we stock.
Can you cut armor plate or exotic alloys?
No. Armor plate (RHA) and exotic alloys are outside our 3 kW fiber cell's practical envelope, and we do not take that work on. We stay in MIL-spec carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum in stock gauges — if a print calls for armor-grade or exotic material, we will say so rather than force the geometry.
What tolerances can I expect on defense-spec brackets and enclosures?

Is the fabrication domestic?
Yes. Every part is cut at our Las Vegas, Nevada facility — no offshore or subcontracted cutting — which supports Buy America sourcing requirements on programs that call for it. Material certifications document the domestic supply chain where a print requires them.
